Family Services Unit

The Domestic Relations Division offers supervised parenting time and home investigation services through the Family Services Unit.  Referrals are made only by court order from a Butler County Domestic Relations Court hearing officer.  The Family Services Specialist is responsible for conducting both services and preparing written reports accordingly.

Supervised parenting time allows a party to have an opportunity for parenting or visitation when no other options exist and when that person would otherwise be denied contact with the child(ren).

Home investigations are ordered to ensure that a parent's residence is an appropriate place for the child(ren) to live or spend time.  Home investigations may include onsite home visits, interviews, criminal and traffic record checks of all adult household members, and school record check of minor children involved.
